Education
I began my educational journey at Pretty International School in Lapaz-Chantan before transitioning to Shalom School Complex JHS. Continuing my academic pursuit, I successfully graduated from ST. Johns Grammar Senior High School in Achimota. While some opted for university, I chose to specialize in my field. This led me to enroll and excel at OpenLabs Ghana, formerly known as the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), where I honed my skills as a software engineering student.
Family
Hailing from a family of two, I’ve always been drawn to the world of entertainment since my earliest days.
Allow me to share the story of my journey into the world of DJing. It all began at the age of 12, where I discovered my passion for mixing music during somber funeral occasions. Intrigued by the mechanics of musical instruments and gadgets, I delved into the intricate art of music production. With an unwavering love for music, my desire to witness people dance to my beats and blends grew stronger. Thus, I proudly adopt the moniker DJ Funky Man, driven by my fervent dedication to crafting unforgettable auditory experiences.
At the tender age of 12, my fascination with the intricacies of the printing industry and graphic design ignited a passion within me. Recognizing the power of visuals to convey messages effectively, especially as someone often misunderstood, I embarked on a journey fueled by determination. Despite lacking access to sophisticated technology, I persuaded my mother to invest in a laptop—an Acer notebook—marking the beginning of my self-taught exploration into design.
Driven by a desire to bridge communication gaps and offer solutions, I honed my skills independently, bypassing formal design education. Witnessing the transformative impact of my work as people began to grasp my intended messages and resolve their challenges, I realized the potential to make a difference through design.
In 2015, I founded PEACE STUDIOS, a testament to my commitment to excellence in designing, printing and branding. This venture symbolizes not only my personal journey but also my dedication to providing innovative solutions and fostering understanding through visual communication.
Delving into Music Production was a natural progression for me, stemming from my passion for music and the joy it brings to people on the dance floor. This journey began at the age of 15, following my immersion into DJing. Eager to understand the intricacies of music creation, I embarked on a quest to learn the artistry within the studio environment.
My pursuit led me through various music studios, where I had the privilege of learning from esteemed producers such as KinDee Beat, Posigee, and Papping Beat. Along the way, I crossed paths with renowned recording artists including Reggie Rockstone, Kofi Kinaata, Jomas, King Jerry, and Ramz Nic, further enriching my understanding of the industry and refining my craft.
My journey into Photography & Videography began with a childhood curiosity that sparked at the age of 7. I found myself captivated by the behind-the-scenes magic of movie production. Armed with nothing but a mobile phone, I began experimenting, taking on the roles of casting, recording, and editing my own projects. Despite the limitations, I persisted, often relying on makeshift editing setups, even venturing to my neighbor’s house to refine my craft.
Fuelled by this passion, I sought out opportunities to learn from industry veterans. At just 15 years old, I officially joined a media house, where I was entrusted with shooting projects for clients. This experience provided me with invaluable exposure, allowing me to work alongside esteemed directors like Prince Dovlo and collaborate with renowned artists such as Tekno, Diamond Platninumz, Flavour, Shatta Wale, Quami Limit, Wendy Shay, and Quamina MP.
In 2018, I took a significant leap forward by establishing my own news and media company, PEACE STUDIOS AFRICA. And in 2022, I further expanded my endeavors by founding my production company, IN-RANGE PICTURES. These milestones represent the culmination of years of dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence in the world of visual storytelling.
